Every time we welcome a work experience student, we're reminded of the value that fresh perspectives and enthusiastic young talent bring to our business. Having college student Jude with us over the past couple of months has been incredibly rewarding and, as well as contributing to his qualification, his time with us empowered him to develop his skills, confidence and understanding of the working world.
Jude, who is currently studying for an Accounts qualification, has spent much of his placement in our Accounts Department under the guidance of our Business Director, Callum. Jude had the opportunity to put his classroom learning into practice while gaining valuable insight into the day-to-day operations of a busy workplace and a vital part of our recruitment business, witnessing how our different teams work together to deliver a seamless service to clients and candidates.
It was wonderful to see Jude embrace every opportunity that came his way and approach each task with real enthusiasm. Callum said: "Jude has been working alongside me and the Accounts team, supporting with invoicing, temporary payroll and general administration. He was a real asset, showing great attention to detail and a visible willingness to help with a wide variety of tasks across the office."
Jude also spent time shadowing Gemma, our Client Relationship Lead. Building strong professional relationships is at the heart of our work - and a fundamental aspect of every career - so it felt important that he experienced this key aspect of our business too. Supporting Gemma in various elements of her role, Jude saw first-hand the craftsmanship that goes into forging and maintaining trusted relationships with stakeholders.
We know the impact that quality work experience can have. As well as providing people with valuable insight into the realities of working life, it gives them the opportunity to learn directly from experienced professionals, build confidence, and put their skills into practice before taking their next career step. It can also open doors to exciting opportunities. During his placement, Jude was shortlisted for an interview with one of our clients!
Many of our candidates, and several members of our own team, have benefited from on-the-job learning throughout their careers, and we're passionate about championing employers who invest in developing future talent in this way. Jude's placement has given him a strong foundation as he continues his studies and plans his next steps, and we're really proud to have played a small part in his journey.
