Job Description

We are very excited to be working exclusively with a leading US law firm based near Moorgate who are looking for an experienced Conflicts/AML Analyst to join their growing team in London. In this newly created role, the Conflicts/AML Analyst will work collaboratively with Conflicts team to provide a research service for the purpose of determining client conflicts of interest. This is an autonomous role based in the London office however you would be reporting to the Conflicts Manager based in Chicago. This is fantastic gateway role for someone looking to work towards becoming a manager. Key responsibilities for the Conflicts/AML Analyst will include:

  • Maintaining a database of information about firm clients and related parties
  • Overseeing the Client Due Diligence process
  • Managing pre approval processes, client care and engagement terms
  • Take full ownership of matter opening process, escalating any issues if necessary
  • Keeping abreast of the SRA rules and changing regulatory requirements
  • Compiling reports of client and client related entities and business relationships
  • Completing AML checks, involving research on individuals and organisations
  • Compliance auditing and sanctions monitoring
  • Assisting with the new creation of AML compliance policies
  • Assisting with the firm's internal audit process
  • Assisting with any internal compliance projects
  • Advising the firm on AML and compliance and standards
  • Completing AML checks, maintaining AML paperwork and liaising with partners on AML Compliance
  • Maintaining AML paperwork and processes in line with Law Society regulations and firm policy
  • Working with Accounting Department to ensure database information is accurate and comprehensive

The ideal candidate for the Conflicts/AML Specialist role with previous conflicts research experience. A relevant degree and/or International Compliance Association Diploma in AML or Compliance is ideally required. Familiarity with automated conflict checking systems and AML compliance software used in a law firm is highly desirable. You will have highly developed business research skills using online databases and knowledge of the CMS programmes, OPEN and ELITE with the ability to maintain complex computerised records.
