Job Description

Our client, a highly regarded prestigious US law firm, are looking for an Events Manager to join their growing London office. Reporting to the Director of Meetings and Events, the successful Events Manager will be responsible for the assessment, planning and delivery of internal and external meetings and events working closely with key stakeholders within the office.

The Events Manager's responsibilities will include:

Events:

  • Assist in the creation, planning, management, execution and delivery of internal and external events through project management, working closely with Partners and other internal stakeholders in relation meeting content, planning and logistics
  • Coordinating logistics inclusive of food and beverages, AV, technology, transportation etc
  • Preparing attendee lists and other materials
  • Ensuring all events are in line with the firm's brand and are consistent with the values
  • Maintain an up-to-date calendar of events
  • Work closely with and oversea the Business Development Coordinator to help with day-to-day management of the events
  • Act as an ambassador for internal and external events within the firm

Supplier Management:

  • Establish and promote strong working relationships with external contracts and suppliers to proactively research venues
  • Learn the Partner interests in order to add value to the annual events whilst suggesting new ways to enhance and challenge the events
  • Working with existing key suppliers and network/ source new suppliers in order to provide most up to date and cost effective event solutions
  • Develop service level agreements and best practice guidelines where required

Budgeting:

  • Budget preparation and management inclusive of preparing cost estimates, managing meeting related expenses, and post event analysis
  • Understanding return on investment and improve general efficiency, value for money and quality of corporate hospitality and events
  • Ensure all events spend is appropriately approved before finalising. Ensure all costs are reported and monitored and track costs savings to determine the value of the events

As the successful Events Manager you will ideally have legal or professional services events experience. The firm are looking for a professional who is service orientated and who is able to work effectively with lawyers, staff and vendors at all levels. You will also need an ability to manage multiple competing priorities, be able to adapt quickly and act with sound judgement under pressure.
