Job Description

Our client, a unique and highly successful international boutique arbitration firm, is looking to recruit a Head of HR to drive their HR function and provide a full HR service across their offices. Reporting into the Director of Practice, the Head of HR will have full accountability for all operational and strategic HR, and shall work closely with the partners and management team. Key responsibilities for the Head of HR will include:

  • Identifying HR priorities and developing a supporting HR strategy in order to deliver successful outcomes against these goals
  • Advising management team and partners to ensure business objectives are delivered through effective people management practices
  • Reviewing and enhancing existing HR policies and processes, and implementing any changes to improve operational delivery of HR services across the business
  • Providing employee relations guidance and support across the firm, including disciplinaries, grievances, parental leave, flexible working requests, etc
  • Managing recruitment activity across the firm, including internship programmes, working with agencies, and overseeing the offer process
  • Managing processes relating to benefits, including liaising with brokers and insurers
  • Reviewing current performance management practices in order to develop a robust performance management process within the firm
  • Other ad-hoc projects as required

The ideal candidate for the Head of HR role will have held an HR management position within a law firm environment, and be CIPD qualified. You must be sensitive to the requirements of working within a partnership, able to maintain high levels of confidentiality and able to influence and build rapport. You will be happy and willing to operate in a hands-on manner and relish the opportunity to shape the longer term HR strategy. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, and you must be able to inspire confidence and respect from people of all levels.
