Hospitality Manager

Working in a dynamic, professional environment the Hospitality Managers role is to manage both the staff and client catering function within the London Office. The main catering operation is outsourced to a catering contractor; the role is to provide client management of the contract, other key catering suppliers, associated catering services and office amenities.

The London office is currently planning to relocate to a new building in December 2024 and a key element of this role is to work with the project team to prepare, develop and implement a new standard and style of service for the new building.

The purpose of catering, both now and in the future, is to provide a facility that not only meets the needs of the office but also encourages staff and clients to work or come to the office, providing an opportunity to socialize and engage with one another. The food and beverage offering needs to be of a high standard, exciting, varied and healthy to support this purpose.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To manage the outsourced catering contract, which provides staff catering at the café, serving currently free issue, breakfast and lunch as well as on floor pantry services and internal events. Client hospitality to meeting rooms and client events.
  • To be a key point of contact for event organizers for catering, working alongside departments such as Guest Services, Facilities and IT. Where required prepare event schedules, menus and budgets. Oversee the management of on site client and internal events.
  • To work with the 40L project team to prepare, develop and implement a new standard and style of catering service for the new building.
  • To source and procure catering equipment, following firm policies and procedures.
  • To purchase wines, beers and other alcohol. To manage stock, complete stock takes and reconcile with recharges.
  • Financials. To prepare and plan catering budgets, ongoing monitoring and reporting.
  • Using EMS, the global meeting room booking tool, ensure catering recharges are correctly processed and passed to Finance in a timely manner.
  • Working with the catering team plan monthly specials such as afternoon treats and Café themed lunches in the Café, to encourage utilization of the Café and staff social interaction.

  • Manage and administer the Deliveroo account, and other key catering suppliers such as vending, coffee machines, Brita and office amenities.
  • To identify opportunities to improve, innovate and develop the staff and hospitality catering experience, including sustainability initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Work Experience, Skills.

Education. Preferable degree in Hotel or Hospitality Management. Food Hygiene and Allergen certification.

Minimum of 10 years' experience in catering establishments, five at manager level. Ideally with experience on the client side in a high-end corporate environment.

Experience of mobilization of a catering contract into new premises.

Excellent management and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Be financially and commercially astute. Have a good understanding of report writing and financial management, Have an analytical approach to problem solving.

Demonstrate a real passion for food and beverage and customer service.

Technologies/Software

Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Experience using EMS preferred or similar room booking tool.
