Job Description

My client is a leading international law firm with offices across the world are currently recruiting for a HR Assistant to join them on a three-month contract.

The department

The human resources function at the firm oversees the operational aspects of payroll, employee benefits, performance management and HR policies and procedures. This is in conjunction with driving forward the strategic aspects around general employee wellbeing and retention of talent. In London the HR department includes the HR Manager, HR Advisor and HR Coordinator.

The position

This is an exciting opportunity to join the HR team of a premier US law firm. This role is all about being an organised team player with a sharp attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for electronic and physical filing/archiving, ensuring that all employee personnel records are always up to date
  • Responsible for data entry on HR systems (Workday) to include new joiner/leaver information, vacation, sickness, secondments, and other leave of absences
  • Monitor staff absences (vacation, TOIL, sickness absences) and circulate relevant self-certification forms
  • Responsible for updating and circulating the London Weekly People Report and the Weekly Whereabouts report
  • Assist HR team with the joining and leaving administration processes
  • Prepare induction packs
  • Prepare reference requests as required
  • Scheduling meetings
  • Undertake ad hoc data audits as required
  • Assist HR team with any ad hoc queries
  • Provide cover for HR team

Essential Experience

  • Good IT Skills (previous experience of using an HRIS is desired but not essential)
  • Ability to use initiative and anticipate tasks
  • Interested in the HR function
