Job Description

Our client, a well-respected UK headquartered law firm, is looking for a confident and proactive HR Officer to join them for 12-18 months to cover maternity leave. Reporting into the HR Manger, the HR Officer will work closely with the firm to provide them with advice and guidance on a full range of HR services. Responsibilities for the HR Officer will be varied and diverse, including:

  • Supporting the HRMs in providing guidance and advice on matters of employment legislation, policies and day-to-day employee related queries
  • Assisting the HRMs in managing issues including attendance, sickness absence, flexible working and leave
  • Supporting with Employee Relations issues - i.e. assisting with investigations, drafting correspondence and attending meetings
  • Coordination of all HR processes including probations, fixed term contracts, joiners, leavers and monitoring absence
  • Assisting the HR team with regular management information reports and ad hoc reporting as required
  • Providing support on the firm's HRIS systems
  • Working alongside the HRM in managing annual appraisal process
  • Responsible for overseeing the collation of monthly payroll information
  • Responding to employee queries regarding payroll and benefits, liaising with providers where required
  • Managing the firm's pension scheme, ensuring compliance with automatic enrolment and pension regulations

The ideal candidate for the HR Officer position will be of graduate calibre and have solid HR experience gained within a Law firm or partnership/professional services environment. Part CIPD qualification is highly desirable. You must have an excellent working knowledge and experience of HR systems, along with a good understanding of employment law and commercial acumen. First class interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with organisation and time management skills to manage a busy workload. A working knowledge of ADP Payroll would be beneficial.
