Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an HR Officer to join a US law firm to cover a period of maternity leave, from February 2018 for around 12 months. This is a standalone role and the HR Officer will provide generalist HR support to all employees within London (c50 people). Key responsibilities for the HR Officer will include:

  • Administering the London payroll in conjunction with the, including benefits related payments and deductions
  • Managing benefits administration and auto-enrolment
  • Managing the recruitment for business support, including relationships with agencies
  • Coordinating new joiner inductions
  • Supporting the DOA with ad hoc duties
  • Assisting the HR Manager with employee relations issues and the annual SRA practicing certificate renewal process
  • Working on a range of HR projects
  • Attending recruitment fairs
  • Organise internal events and parties
  • Being first point of contact for all HR related questions from the firm's international offices
  • Assisting with ER duties when necessary

The ideal candidate for this HR Officer contract role will have solid generalist HR experience gained within a law firm or professional services environment, and will ideally be CIPD qualified or working towards it. Experience of payroll and benefits administration is essential, along with good basic employment law knowledge. You will be a self-starter, with excellent time management and organisational skills, and be a strong team player. You must be able to maintain confidentiality and discretion, and have a flexible, hands-on approach.
