This is a really interesting role and not one to be seen very often. Our client is a top 50 FTSE company and is looking for a junior Paralegal to assist Legal Counsel between the hours of 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday. After speaking with Counsel, he has said that the role would absolutely suit someone who is trying to combine work with study and, during quiet times, he is happy for you to study at your desk. The shortened hours make the role a very good option for you if you need to go to evening classes. In an ideal world, you will be a law degree educated individual with some experience of company secretarial work such as company formations, filing at Companies House, company searches etc and also assist with some compliance work (guidance will be given). Counsel has said he will be willing to hand down a variety of work once trust is earned so there is no telling what experience you will be able to gain from working with him. The firm is small so it will be a matter of rolling up your sleeves at times and helping out wherever needed (showing clients to the boardroom, ensuring the boardroom is set up etc). Counsel travels a lot so there will be some diary work for you to handle as well as international travel arrangements (you may be required to also assist the Director of Investor Relations in the same areas). Although the hours are Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm, there could be some flexibility on this if you are the right candidate for the firm. If you are a law degree educated candidate who is bright, proactive and looking for the chance to combine learning on the job whilst still be able to continue studies (LPC for example), this could very well be the perfect scenario for you.
