Job Description

Our major international law firm client has an exciting new opportunity for a Legal Recruitment and Professional Development Coordinator to join their London office on a permanent basis. The purpose of this role will be to provide daily support to the Manager of Legal Recruitment and Professional Development in London by coordinating the London Office's legal recruiting efforts for trainees, associates and paralegals. You will be serving as the main point of contact for recruitment agencies and candidates whilst working closely with partners and legal secretaries to coordinate candidate interviews.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Manager of Legal Recruitment and Professional Development with lateral partner recruiting
  • Tracking the life cycle of candidates for reporting purposes.
  • Serve as first point of contact for current and future trainee solicitors.
  • Assisting the Manager of Legal Recruitment and Professional Development with all stages of the trainee life cycle; induction, seat moves, mid and end of seat reviews and qualification process.
  • Assisting with annual SRA Practising Certificate renewal process.
  • Coordinating the London Office Diversity initiatives, events, and lawyer affinity groups.
  • Administer associate mentoring programmes including tracking mentor relationships and related expenses.
  • Provide support to the Manager of Legal Recruitment and Professional Development during the bi-annual performance management review processes for the Lawyer population.
  • Log details of internal training sessions onto Micron portal for both Continuing Competency and CLE requirements.
  • Assisting with all aspects of London office Knowledge Services/Library management, including budgeting, acquisitions, renewals, and collection coordination.
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects as assigned or as required.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of the UK legal market.
  • Must demonstrate strong project management skills, a commitment to diversity and excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Attention to detail is essential.
  • Must work well independently but also excels in a collaborative environment; participates in the office culture to gain the confidence and trust of the lawyers and staff.
  • Some travel required.

The ideal candidate must have recruitment experience, preferably at a large US or International law firm. You must be flexible, results oriented, self-motivated, organized, and able to effectively prioritize competing demands on time and attention.
