Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior HR Manager to join a leading global law firm on a 9 month FTC. Reporting in to the Director of HR for Global Business Services, the Senior HR Manager will deliver both strategic and operational people-focused initiatives and will act as a number two to the Director. This role provides the opportunity to hold responsibility for leading the day-to-day operations across Business Services departments in the UK. Developing and implementing people strategies/plans that are an integral part of the strategic planning of the firm and directly contributes to the future success of the firm play a key part in this role. There is also the opportunity to lead on key HR projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Understands the global business, identifies opportunities and challenges across multiple groups and feeds key information/trends to the Director Of.
* Take a leading consultative role with client groups including applying organization development and problem solving techniques in order to develop innovative and pragmatic solutions in partnership with client teams and other HR groups.
* Works with Director Of and Business Partners to draft people and resource planning strategies for relevant client groups and engages with the recruitment team to deliver against these needs.
* Works with client groups to deliver against their department strategy and align to HR processes.
* Supports talent management actions including performance management, compensation planning, succession planning, and development planning including promotion pipeline across multiple groups. Identify and implement needed interventions.
* Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
* Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
* Ensure effective on-boarding and exits are managed effectively for client groups and direct reports.
* Serves as a coach and mentor to the development of direct reports. Conduct regular performance progress updates and development discussions.
* Supports the implementation and monitoring of designated Bus Serv team objectives. Provides regular updates and insights on progress to Director of Bus Serv.
* Partners and works with senior HR leadership team on strategic initiatives and implementation of strategic priorities.
* Provides sound guidance to HR Business Partners and line managers on day-to-day matters, including disciplines, ER/grievances, etc
* Conducts senior level interviews (where appropriate) for relevant client groups.
* Manage and co-ordinate internal promotion process within client groups.
* Leads on the development of Firm's strategy and objectives for the wellbeing initiative.
* Sits on the Global Wellbeing Board, including providing advice and counsel to the Board.

The ideal candidate will have extensive HR experience from a legal or professional services firm. CIPD qualification preferred. You must be able to build strong relationships at all levels, have an excellent knowledge of UK employment law, and strong skill base within end to end talent management. You will have excellent people management skills, experience of working globally, and be adaptable to work with a variety of situations. Please note that candidates must be able to commit to the full duration of the 9 month contract.
