Co-Managing Director

Andrea Prendergast joined Ryder Reid Legal in 2008 bringing with her a wealth of recruitment experience. Andrea started her career in 2001, recruiting support staff within the Legal, Finance & Property sectors. In 2007, she transferred to specialise and recruit solely for Law firms across London and Europe. Andrea’s ability and commitment saw her become a Director of Ryder Reid in 2011 with responsibility for building the Executive Search division. This department specialises in the recruitment of Senior Management and Executive Level positions within Office Management, Marketing, HR, Risk & Compliance, Finance and IT. Andrea’s experience means that she is the “go to” person to assist our clients with high-level, board, committee and Director level roles often requiring a high degree of confidentiality and executive search methods. In 2018, Andrea became Co-Managing Director alongside Callum Smith and is jointly responsible for the overall running of Ryder Reid Legal.

Callum Smith joined Ryder Reid Legal in December 2006 as a recruitment consultant on the Interim Legal Division. During this time, Callum was instrumental in the growth of the department and the supply of contract lawyers and Paralegals in relation to electronic document review for litigation and arbitration matters. In 2011, Callum decided on a career change and took on the role as Office Manager overseeing the day-to-day operations. Callum continued to build his career and moved into a Business Manager role whereby he utilised his strong financial and analytical skills whilst supporting and providing business strategy advice to the founders of Ryder Reid Legal. In 2018, Callum became Co-Managing Director alongside Andrea Prendergast and is jointly responsible for the overall running of Ryder Reid Legal.

Steve Cooper

Associate Director - Business Support

Steve Cooper has been working in legal recruitment since 1996. Initially, Steve recruited for UK law firms before finding his niche recruiting solely for the US market in 2000. He joined Ryder Reid Legal in 2003 where his extensive experience and impressive track record has ensured that he has continued to flourish within the US and International legal market. Steve's in-depth knowledge means he has a great understanding of how they work, the culture and an appreciation of the calibre of candidates required to be a success. Steve has a very transparent approach to recruitment which is popular with both clients and candidates alike and, over the years, has developed expert knowledge in the recruitment of Paralegals/Legal Assistants and Business Support staff. Steve became an Associate Director of Ryder Reid Legal in 2018.

Gemma Coyston

Consultant - Interim Legal

Gemma Coyston is an experienced consultant who has been working with Ryder Reid Legal for many years and is one of the primary Consultants in Ryder Reid’s highly regarded Interim Legal Division. She recruits Contract Lawyers and Temporary Paralegals for purposes of eDiscovery and document review. Gemma also recruits Fixed Term Contract Paralegals and Permanent Paralegals to work as generalists across various practice areas. She is highly skilled in sourcing and identifying suitable candidates for even the most challenging of requirements. Gemma’s dedication and perseverance means that she always produces positive and quick results. She is building a strong reputation in the Interim Legal market and has excellent working relationships with both clients and candidates alike.

Consultant - Interim Legal

Keira Couzens joined Ryder Reid Legal in 2010 - progressing quickly through different divisions at Ryder Reid and now is one of the primary consultants on our Interim Legal Division. Keira has made full use of her organisational and people skills and is very popular with candidates and clients alike due to her excellent response times and her willingness to offer a 24/7 service. She gives 100% to every task with no client requirement being too difficult - indeed she relishes a challenge. Keira’s current remit is to recruit Contract Lawyers and Temporary Paralegals for purposes of eDiscovery/document review. She also recruits Fixed Term Contract Paralegals and Permanent Paralegals to our law firm clients. She has certainly earned her place as a senior member of the Ryder Reid team.

Evie Perry

Consultant - Interim Legal

Evie Perry joined Ryder Reid Legal in early 2015 and quickly demonstrated a natural aptitude for recruitment. She now works as a Consultant in the Interim Legal Division alongside Keira Couzens and Gemma Coyston and is an integral member of the team. Evie dedicates a large portion of her time to sourcing new contract lawyers and paralegals as well as building strong relationships within the candidate market. She has excellent interpersonal skills coupled with strong time management which means that she can respond promptly and efficiently to client requests. As with the other members of this team Evie is contactable 24/7. Evie continues to expand her knowledge of the International legal market and we have no doubt she will continue to develop and progress in her career at Ryder Reid.

Neil Gibbs began his recruitment career in 2008 and has specialised in recent years in sourcing Business Support staff for both UK and International law firms. He has a comprehensive and expert knowledge of the market and recently was promoted to head up our Interim Legal Business Support Desk. Whether a client is seeking a temporary candidate for a short or long-term booking, Neil will always take the time to listen to individual needs. He provides consistent service to all law firms whether large or small and with his friendly, approachable and honest manner, he believes, that outstanding customer service to both candidates and clients is at the heart of his success. Neil can assist with all temporary bookings for Legal Secretarial, Reception, Paralegal, Facilities, Finance and IT roles.

Georgia Crage joined Ryder Reid after relocating to the City from Portsmouth. Georgia works alongside the Business Support team specialising in placing Legal PA, Secretaries, Facilities and Reception staff in both US and international law firms. Georgia began her career working in HR within a Legal 500 regional law firm before making the move into Recruitment in 2017. Georgia has a strong knowledge of the legal market and has a natural ability to build good relationships with both clients and candidates alike. Georgia has the drive and determination, to find the best candidates for her clients as well as ensuring the candidate experience is positive and they find the right opportunity for them.

Kate Gallagher is a Law LLB Graduate, who started her career in a large educational recruitment agency sourcing teachers and support staff. After 2 years within the education sector, she welcomed the opportunity to move into the legal recruitment market and to combine the knowledge gained during her law degree together with her recruitment skills. Whilst Kate’s main focus at Ryder Reid is recruitment for permanent support staff including Legal Secretarial, Reception, Paralegals and Facilities staff, her remit has recently expanded to include recruitment of junior to mid-level Accounts and IT roles - with an excellent success rate. Kate’s knowledge of the US legal market is rapidly expanding and we continue to receive positive feedback from her ever-growing client base who thoroughly enjoy working with her.

Ryan Rand

Ryan Rand joined Ryder Reid in 2015 as an Apprentice and in 2016 he passed his NVQ level 2 exams in Business Administration. He quickly learned the art of candidate resourcing and headhunting and after his first year was promoted to Assistant Consultant, working alongside and supporting our Business Support Team. Ryan continues to develop and has been responsible for sourcing some excellent Business Support candidates for the team. After working alongside our experienced Business Support team consultants, Ryan has gained comprehensive knowledge and now heads up the Temporary Business Support desk, providing high calibre temporary employees to our US and International clients for both short term and long term assignments.

Kerry Channing

Kerry Channing started her recruitment career in 2007 as a consultant in the City specialising in sourcing Legal Business Support Staff. She subsequently moved out of Legal to broaden her experience and gain insight into a different market - again working on general support roles but for private equity and investment management firms. She recruited for a wide spectrum of positions there, from executive assistants to marketing and senior management roles. However, Kerry missed the legal market and was delighted to join Ryder Reid Legal in 2012. Kerry recruits for senior roles including Executive Search for HR & Marketing positions, alongside Andrea Prendergast and Laura Lucia. Her professional, personable manner and natural tenacity allows her to achieve the best outcome for clients and candidates alike.

Laura Lucia joined Ryder Reid in 2011 and after several successful years working as a Consultant within the Interim team, transferred to our Business Support Division where she focussed on Business Support roles, including Legal Secretarial, Reception, Paralegals and Facilities. Laura’s attention to detail, strong sense of ethics and excellent working relationships with clients and candidates alike meant this was a smooth transition. She also has a very good understanding of the needs of International law firms and our various client cultures. Laura’s role has recently progressed and she now works on senior roles including Executive Search for HR & Marketing positions, alongside Andrea Prendergast and Kerry Channing.

Kirstie Hopkins graduated from college with her ILEX Legal secretarial diploma and worked as a Legal Secretary locally before starting her career in sales in 2014. Kirstie worked in her first recruitment consultant role for a boutique legal agency for one year prior to joining Ryder Reid Legal in early 2017. Her prior specialism in recruitment was Legal Business Support. However, on joining Ryder Reid Kirstie was delighted to be able to work alongside Laura Lucia and Kerry Channing on Ryder Reid’s HR & Marketing desk. The roles that Kirstie covers include junior to mid-level HR and Marketing roles. She is already an enthusiastic and extremely capable member of the team who is showing great potential for a strong future here at Ryder Reid.

Office Manager

Rae Painter initially joined Ryder Reid Legal in 2015 assisting the Managing Directors. After 8 months Rae decided to relocate back to Australia, but returned to Ryder Reid Legal in 2018 as the Office Manager working closely with Andrea, Callum and the Consultants on day to day operations. Rae oversees our team of administrators and resourcers, and in addition Rae also deals with HR, Facilities, Staff and Client Events and IT procedures. Rae has exceptional communication and organisational skills and ensures the smooth day to day running of the Ryder Reid Legal office.
